AFFTERUN
Strava-to-Poster Web App — 2026
End-to-End Developer (system design, database, deployment) — self-initiated project · affterun.vercel.app
After finishing a run, most people want to share it — but Strava's own share cards feel clinical, more like a spreadsheet than something worth posting. Affterun connects to Strava via OAuth, pulls real activity data (distance, pace, duration, elevation), and lets the user overlay it onto their own photo, styled into one of three cinematic or editorial poster presets, then exports it directly as a high-quality PNG built for Instagram Story.
The architectural decision I'm most proud of: it's entirely client-side. No backend, no database, no server ever touches the user's photo or Strava token — that wasn't just a technical shortcut, it shaped the privacy policy itself. I could honestly write that no image or personal data is ever collected, because the app is structurally incapable of collecting it.
Impact — Live today at affterun.vercel.app. The full poster generation, cropping, and export pipeline is production-ready, running entirely in the browser with zero data ever collected by design.
